Experience with the VIT Competition
“ As one lamp lights another”, nor grows less, nobleness enkindleth nobleness” is a popular line from a poem. To spread the wings of knowledge and expand their scientific acumen, students of Class IX & X had an opportunity to exhibit their talents at V.I.T Vellore Institute of Technology, one of the most cherished Institutions in the World, to promote technical education.
There were four competitions, out of which our students took part in Working Models , Quiz Competition & Poster Making. Kamala Central English High School students participated in these competitions displaying their zeal and enthusiasm to the maximum. Chakshu, Likitesh & Gokul of Class X made a FIRE EXTINGUISHING ROBOT. Swathi, Shruthi & Neha of Class X , made a device for flood prevention, Kanakraj, Prathish & Govind were creative and reflected the nuances of Science by making a model of Creating Fuel through Water. A splendid model of a SMART CITY was wonderfully done with a marvellous architecture by Shreyans, Vishnu & Gagan of Class IX. The thought always lingers on our hearts is RAIN WATER HARVESTING which was displayed in the form of a model by Nanda Kumar, Nikith & Suraj of Class IX. There were more than 300 schools that took part in Working model competition and the competition became intense and tough. It was the proudest moment, to state that Kanakraj & group of Class X won the consolation prize for their model “Water into Fuel “
Our students also took part in Quiz competitions where Eighty (80) schools participated and we were one among the six teams that were selected, for the finals, after a gruelling round of written test.
Gautam, Parul & Intkhab Alam of class IX, were the 6th Qualified Team who took the reins for the Finals. The competition was tough as Questions from all the subjects were asked. Our students finally won the consolation prize.
It was a very good exposure for our students to gain confidence, be creative and consistent in a fiercely competitive environment.
The zeal and creativity of all student was in the peak.
